  A Thank You Tribute

The new ARE of NY Center celebrated it’s Tenth Anniversary in September, 2007.  Science of Light, which has been presenting it’s transpersonal events at the Center since it’s formation, thanks the organization for it’s continuing hospitality.

Personally, I wish to thank the ARE of New York for the opportunity it afforded me to serve my fellow beings as a volunteer first as the treasurer and currently as the bookstore manager.   My thanks also for the heartwarming renewal I experienced during the Tenth Anniversary weekend celebrations of the Cayce Legacy with appearances by Sydney Kirkpatrick, award-winning author, Patrick Belisle, the new development director at headquarters, Dr. Charles Thomas Cayce, Edgar Cayce’s grandson and president of the Edgar Cayce Foundation, Tom Johnson, founder of The Heritage Store and Kevin Todeschi, Executive Director of The ARE.  I thoroughly enjoyed their stories, gained new knowledge, and in some instances was sent back to the ARE prime directive: research.   I also had an opportunity to meet Mark Finnan, and James D’Angelo, with whom I shared common interests in theatre, The Revelation and music.

The Priest and the Candle

Sydney Kirkpatrick shared a wealth of inside information he gained while researching his book, Edgar Cayce: An American Prophet, including the story of the priest from Star of the Sea RC Church on Artic Crescent in Virginia Beach across from what had been the Cayce home.  This story brought back memories of when we lived in Virginia Beach in the 1970’s, attended Star of the Sea Church, and contemplated purchasing the old Cayce home on Lake Holly.   Having recently completed Father Malachi Martin’s book, Hostage to the Devil, about exorcism, I understood the caution of the priest, who reluctantly showed up in full regalia carrying a lit candle to the reading of a local banker who requested a health reading from Cayce as a last resort.  Nevertheless, the picture it conjured up was as humorous as Kirkpatrick’s humorous bits from the readings.

Heightened Senses

I had encountered most of the humorous bits mentioned by Kirkpatrick while working on the Who Was Who, the past life directory from the readings, but gained new knowledge from one about a woman whose senses were heightened.  It was a relief to know that such a condition, where more than one sense was heightened, really existed, because I also experience this condition, which can be excruciating at times.  As a combination of all five divisions of the race, each of which the readings say personify a sense,* I personify all five.  Four senses: Feeling, hearing, smelling and tasting are physically heightened.   For example: I feel in my body anything I touch, taste toxic odors that others do not smell, and become physically ill at the sound of certain people’s voices.   Seeing is experienced as a heightened sixth sense.

Kirkpatrick’s punch line about the woman with heightened senses was about thinking twice before your speak. When I researched the reading (910-01) it said that she thought twice because of the heightened senses.  This really made more sense to me, since I not only have acute hearing, but also “hear” what people are thinking.  In my case, thinking twice is not done to be careful of what I say, but to discern whether to respond to what the person is saying or is really thinking, since they are often in opposition.  Thanks to Sydney Kirkpatrick and reading (910-01) I gained so much from finally getting confirmation on my heightened senses and why I sometimes hesitate in responding.   I also gained information that seemed to clear up another mystery: evolution.

Creation and Evolution

Sydney Kirkpatrick spoke about Tom Sugrue’s original manuscript of There is a River, the cuts he had been required to make and the scrutiny, if not skepticism, of his original publisher.  For me, this provided a possible answer to why Sugrue included the “philosophy” in the back of the book that has the soul hovering over, training and entering anthropoid apes, which appears to be in direct opposition to the reading that expressively says that man did not descend from monkeys, but entered as Lord over that that had been created (3744-4 – Q. 46), that evolution was the refining of man over time as is documented in my book on Genesis: Let There Be Light: Creation and Evolution in the Bible that is also compatible with the creation story in the Cayce material including the mixtures, the time line, and the sons of God.

Could Sugrue’s speculation have been included to appease his publishers or the scientific community?  Unfortunately, it is repeated in other books and could be confusing even though all serious students of the readings know that direct reading quotes have reading numbers, that if there are no quotation marks, it is a paraphrase and if there is no number it is to be viewed as the author’s opinion.

The Master Musician

Another interesting piece of information provided by Kirkpatrick was what Cayce saw on his death bed when he reportedly said:  “The Master Musician,” which had been speculated to be Cayce’s higher self.  Actually, there is a beautiful reading where (288) questioned the meaning of seeing those on the prayer list as notes being played by the Master Musician (Christ) in which “Master Musician” was reiterated in the answer (281-8).  In numerous readings, Jesus had been identified as “The Master” and as the “Master of Masters” (1436-2).   He was also said to have been a musician on the harp, on which he played the beautiful Psalm 91: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty…” at the last supper (5749-1).

In the reading about the incarnations of Jesus that mentions Asaph, Gladys Davis’s note suggests that Psalm 81:5 indicates that Joseph and Asaph were one (364-7).  However, in that reading, which is on the important reincarnations of Adam in the world's history, both Asaph and Joseph are mentioned, so that Asaph probably referred to Asaph, David’s choir master and seer.

“(A) In the beginning as Amilius, as Adam, as Melchizedek, as Zend, as

Ur [a consciousness], as Asaph, as Jesus [Jeshua] - Joseph - Jesus. 364-7

The Science of Light

An update of the scientific research that is going on today was truly exciting and will vindicate much futuristic information found in the readings.   In speaking of this, Kirkpatrick mentioned the merging of science as stated in reading (5023-2):  “Science and religion are one when their purposes are one.”   This reading for a social science teacher also states that “…it (study of the spirit of light of the beginning) is the science of light” (5023-2).

I encountered that quote while working on my doctorate in Religion and Transpersonal Arts.  When creating a new organization during my internship, it seemed like the perfect name for uniting my interests, so I morphed my non-profit arts organization:  Broadway Tomorrow Musical Theatre into Science of Light, which became the umbrella for all of my organizations.   Indeed, now with the scientific research coming from a spiritual organization, the two are merging into the study of light.  The word, “religion” is from “harking back.”  Science is finally catching up with religion “harking back” to the light of the beginning.   The most recent advances from the geological research project in the Bahamas were given by Patrick Belisle.

New Developments – Patrick Belisle

Atlantis Rising

The Beautiful Isle

Atlantis Rising

Patrick Belisle, the new Director of Development of the ARE in Virginia Beach responded to a query at Kirkpatrick’s talk about current geological research.  He reported on the ARE's Search For Atlantis Project’s    new discoveries in the Bahamas on Bimini and Andros and their incursions into the Berry islands.  During their expeditions in May and June, 2007 they discovered a crashed plane that reportedly had been missing in the Bermuda Triangle and what appears to be building foundations of a temple in 100 feet of water in Bimini.**  (Patrick Belisle and Dr. Curtis at ARE of New York, September 22, 2007)

The Cayce readings, of course, say that the Bahamas are mountain tops of Poseida the large island of Atlantis where records are in the sunken temple there,  that  it  will rise and new land will appear: "There will be new lands seen off the Caribbean Sea, and DRY land will appear" (3976-15).

The Beautiful Isle

I felt an immediate affinity to Patrick Belisle when we met.  Both his names carry heavy symbolism.  Patrick: “father,” symbolically sires new births, as history will attest.  Belisle is French for “beautiful isle.”   As a long-time ARE member and native-born Bahamian with ties to Bimini and Eleuthera, which is considered the most beautiful isle in the Bahamas, I feel strongly that there is something prophetic about the explosion of “development” of vacation villas and retirement homes in progress on Eleuthera’s Royal Island as more discoveries are being made.  For ARE members who are interested in being a part of the beautiful isle, there will also be a theater, tennis courts, chapel, events lawn, retail shops, ice cream shop, three or four restaurants, Jack Nicklaus Golf Course, Club house, kids club, fitness/wellness center, customs office, village center, spa, 83 key resort hotel (Montage), 200 slip Marinia (50 ft - 250 ft slips) and a security office.  It will also offer a hi-tech medical clinic with satellite access to hospitals in Miami and Nassau with two helicopter pads and an Island Helicopter.  The developer Chris Maguire of Cypress Equities in association with the Roger Staubach Group worked closely in with Bahamian Prime Minister Perry Christi.  The site can be viewed at:

My meeting with Patrick Belisle reinforced my strong feeling that there was definitely a message here connected to Atlantis rising and the symbolic Royal road.  It is a lovely setting for vacation or retirement homes, and a site for conferences or a stopover base for the research team as it expands.   For those interested in more information or a prospector’s tour, contact Chris Drewer and mention this referral.
