Broadway Tomorrow Reminiscence

Barbara Schottenfeld, composer, lyricist, dramatist and performer, receiving an Oliver, the Broadway Tomorrow award, from Artistic Director, Elyse Curtis for the production of her  musical, “Sit Down and Eat Before Our Love Gets Cold,” which  previewed at Broadway Tomorrow with “Hello…I’m Not In Right Now” in 1983. Wesley Shipp, the leading man is on her L. and musical director, David Loud is on her R.

Barbara Schottenfeld is still as georgeous as ever, has three sons and is still receiving rave reviews as a lyricist, composer and performer in the theatre and cabaret scene.

In a review of her performance at Feinstein’s at the Regency,  Linda Amiel Burns of Theatre Scene.Net wrote:

“Barbara Schottenfeld is one of the most talented women on this planet. There are not many people in this business who write both music, lyrics, and the book of a musical, can sing in a variety of voices and styles, put on a terrific solo show and knows how to keep her audience entertained.

Wesley Shipp next appeared as The Flash and is still active in films and theatre.

David Loud, whose  Broadway  credits include the original Broadway productions of  McNally’s Master Class and Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along, plus countless others Off and On, is still active as a musical director.

Theatre of the Spirit

A Living, Moveable Experience

Theatre of the Spirit takes place in a variety of venues from living rooms to theatre spaces to lecture halls and study groups, wherever the participants are.  At The Revelation Study Group or the Science of Light Events sometimes it manifests in the form of dramatic reading or poetic rendering of The Ballad of the Revelation, or rapping of the Word in John 1.  At other times, it is expressed in song at our Awakening, or through “Soul Quest, The Legacy” about life on the spiritual path flavored by improvisation from participants based on their experiences.  All are welcome to join and participate as an initial step toward full performances.  For Information: Theatre of the Spirit
