Edgar Cayce left the earth plane in
1945. Although I did not hear of him
until 1956, both he and David Kahn, whom I knew briefly, were familiar
figures and mentors in my dreams when I lived at the old NY |

Cayce |

Edgar Cayce was a modern-day “Christian
mystic” (to use Harmon Bro’s apt description of him), who read the Bible through
once for every year of his life. The
centerpiece of his work was Jesus, the Christ and him
crucified. Through the harmonization
of his body, mind, spirit triune while asleep, he was able to read the akashic records (the Biblical book of life: the ark of
the testament) where everything that has ever happened is recorded on the
“skein of time and space.” Several
biographies have been written about him.
The most popular one, There Is A
River, * by Thomas Sugrue, whose title came
from Psalm 46, was begun in 1940 and published in 1943. Thirty years later, in 1973, with the
support of Gladys Davis Turner, who had been his secretary, I compiled the
first chronology of his past lives as a synopsis for a book: The First Sunrise. All of those lives and his past
relationships to friends, family and close supporters through time from the
beginning form a mosaic of characters whose lives fill in many of the
unanswered questions about the planet’s past
history. They are documented in The Edgar Cayce Soul Group and all
appear in the Who Was Who. *A note on the “philosophy” in the back of There Is A River; some of it is Sugrue’s opinion. The Cayce sources stated emphatically,” Man was made as man…Man DID NOT descend from the monkey” 3744-5 |

David
Kahn’s memoir, My life with Edgar
Cayce, opens with “In the Time Before…,” a familiar phrase used in the
Cayce discourses to introduce a past life, a phrase that his wife, Lucille,
told me was used at his burial. I knew
David only briefly before he passed, but it was he who taught me at night in
the rendezvous dreams with Edgar Cayce.
When
I lived in New York at the old I
never remembered what I had been taught except once. As I was being let out of the car I was
told, “You are chosen for this job because you are a Scorpio.” The
overriding Scorpio trait of regenerating everything and everyone contacted
and ferreting out the “secrets,” finding answers to the mysteries, through
research, came to the fore immediately and eventually led to formation in the
Commonwealth of Virginia of Astral Projections Press as the parent company of
Ethereal Music and Akashic Records. |

The Man Called Cayce |

The
day after that dream, “The Man Called Cayce,” a song about Edgar Cayce “fell”
into my head. At first I called it “The
Ballad of Edgar Cayce” and “The Legacy,” because of the repeating line in the
chorus. It was not just a folk ballad
about a man with a special ability, but a song about his legacy, the work
that provided answers to the questions about our origins, the universe, the
Bible and more. |

the early 1970’s, “The Man Called Cayce” became linked to “There Is A River”

A majority of
persons who had Life Readings from Edgar Cayce had incarnations in ancient
Egypt around 10,500 -10,400 B.C. during the period when Ra-Ta (an incarnation
of Edgar Cayce) was the high priest.
The Readings indicated that those people had been attracted to the
work of Edgar Cayce. Within this wide
group, was a smaller group of people, some of whom were physical relatives
who were intimately involved with Cayce in the development of the Association
of Research and Enlightenment. Some members incarnated at various other
times with Cayce, or incarnated as a group weaving intricate patterns of
karma to be met. They incarnated as a
group in Persia when Cayce was Uhjltd, the
grandfather of Zoroaster, in the court of the Louises
in France and in Ft. Dearborn in early America. Many also incarnated in Atlantis, during
the Biblical exodus and the return from captivity of the Jews, and when the
master walked in the earth and during the early Christian era. All of the Readings were given file numbers,
which preserved the identity of the person to whom the Reading was
given. For anonymity all persons are
identified by reading numbers, except in those cases where individuals
consented to be identified, or have been identified in previous publications. |

In the early 1970's
while I was living in Virginia Beach, I conceived the idea to write a book
about the incarnations of Edgar Cayce.
I told Gladys Davis about this.
She thought it was an excellent idea and gave the project her
blessings. In the process of
researching the lives of Edgar Cayce, it was a major effort to stay focused
not to get caught up in a maze of characters from Atlantis to Early America
and not stray into those others side lives, because the material was so
fascinating. After months of research
in the library, I came up with a synopsis and outline of the chapters, which
I submitted to Hugh Lynn and Gladys.
Being a playwright, I used some of the dramatic vernacular, like
"setting the stage," the "cast of characters," etc. Hugh Lynn thought the book was a good idea,
but felt that the time was not right, because they hoped to have a film of
Edgar Cayce coming out soon. He
thought it would conflict with the movie (which, unfortunately, never got
made). More than
twenty years later, the original research that I painstakingly did in 1973,
before the readings were available on CD Rom, became the basis for the Who Was Who. Published in 1996, it not only documented the
incarnations of the Edgar Cayce soul group, but listed the complete 7,499
entries gleaned from the 1,919 Life Readings and incarnations of others given
through association. Relatives and acquaintances often incarnated in the same
eras and were advised to parallel their Readings for past relationships,
which was done in the Who Was Who. With the exception of 150 universally
recognized prominent personages, most of the incarnations were of ordinary
people. A few noted persons, like Nicodemus and Bartholomew were mentioned in
other types of readings for those individuals or in Life Readings for other
people. Judas was confirmed as being a present acquaintance of one of the
soul group. Past lives of some
prominent persons like Henry Ford (See [464]) and the Duke of Windsor (See
[3031]) (who were in the earth plane at the time of the individual Readings)
also came through. Most significantly, the past incarnations of Jesus and
many more of the characters that interacted with Him, were identified by
name. (Continued on pp (v-ix) of the Who Was Who) |
