Soul Quest: The Legacy

Listening to the Messages We Receive

Messages we receive from higher consciousness often have circuitous ways of manifesting.  Such was the case of a message I received through a variety of signs to fill the void of Cayce-oriented groups at the ARE of NY during the week.   Instead of dismissing the message, I put it in my soul “someday to do” box.  Once I did that, the process was in motion.
The director and I both had a series of dreams directing me to new volunteer responsibilities at the center that would put me there during the week.   I was given a desk in the office from which I represented
Atlantic University as an alumna and assisted with the archives and donated books.    Immediately, I was asked to facilitate the Monday night A Search for God Group on 11/7 at 7 p.m. because the co-facilitators had prior engagements.  I agreed, but was later informed that one of the group members would do it and later one of the facilitators would be there.  However, they did not show, so the group members came to the office and asked me to do it.

The Search For God group couldn’t find their books, so we winged it.  They were delightful and had lots of questions unrelated to Search to God, but to the Cayce material and the Bible, two subjects that love and am well-versed in.  Whether I intended it or not, I held my Cayce Forum.  Their appetites were whetted and they demanded that I do an on-going weekday Cayce Forum.  I told them to make their request known to the director and I would be happy to comply.

The New Cayce Forum

The promise to the Search for God Study Group to hold a Cayce Forum on Wednesdays at 7 P.M. so they could learn more about the Cayce work was actually a triple-header.  Created in 2005 as a Science of Light lecture series to fill the void and present information from the Cayce files at the ARE Center, the Cayce Forum became one of the lecture topics listed for me in the Atlantic University Alumni Speaker’s Directory simultaneously with the request from the SFG members.  The symbology of this triple convergence was obvious (three = “God speaks”) and manifested as the first New Cayce Forum on November 16, 2011.

Soul Quest – The Legacy

The format for the New Cayce Forum automatically fell into place.  The questions that the members of the SFG members asked, and more, are in The man Called Cayce, a song whose creation goes back to visits from Edgar Cayce and David Kahn on the spiritual level in the 1960’s when I lived in the apartment in Chelsea that had been the first ARE center.  Though I never met Edgar Cayce, when I lived at the old center in Chelsea, he came to me often in dreams when I was either in despair or needed direction. I documented these meetings in my book, Visions, Dreams and the Revelation (p.49).   In one recurring dream, a black limousine would come to pick me up for a rendezvous with Mr. Cayce.  Another man, whom I perceived to be Lucille's husband, David Kahn, would also be in the car. I would be taught something (that I never remembered consciously) and the rendezvous would be over until the next dream.  In the last dream, as I was waking up, I heard, “You are chosen for this because you are a Scorpio.”   I didn’t know what he meant, but that day the total song, which is based on research and seeking out hidden knowledge (a Scorpio trait) fell into my head.  The song was first titled The Ballad of Edgar Cayce and later, The Legacy because of the chorus, and finally The Man Called Cayce at Virginia Beach in the 1970’s when my husband, Norman Curtis, and I lived at the Beach and performed at the Marshalls for ARE conferees.  One night, when Hugh Lynn Cayce thanked me for “writing a song about my father,” it became obvious to me that the song was an excellent way to spread the information.

Response from those attending the Forum who thirsted after the information provided in the Cayce discourses validated listening to and following the message.

 Cayce Forum   Response to Group

The Man Called Cayce was recorded in Virginia Beach and later appeared in the concert version of the musical, Where Is Soul Mate? in New York.   In its latest incarnation as a lyrical rap piece interspersed with another song, “Searching,” it is the opening piece in Soul Quest:The Legacy about life on the spiritual path as we experienced it at the first ARE, which eventually touches on and answers the topics in the Cayce files in a fun way.  It can be read as poetry, rapped or sung and has become the basic study book for The New Cayce Forum.

Why The Forum

In the Bible, the records from the foundations of the world are written in the book of life (Rev. 17.8) that is accessed when the ark of the testimony of the temple of God is opened in heaven.  Though we all have access to the temple of God within, in this third dimensional world the true reality of our origin and destiny and everything else in-between can be clouded by the logical, conscious mind.  Yet, some of us often have nagging questions that usually send us on a quest to parents, The Bible, or anywhere else where we feel we might receive answers about our relationship to the universe and to each other.

My search not only led me down the intellectual and mystical trails, but to The Bible and the work of the modern-day prophet, Edgar Cayce, who not only substantiated the Biblical accounts and brought them to life, but got his information from the akashic records, the Sanskrit word for the Biblical Book of Life.

Having gained so much conscious understanding of every subject imaginable from my study of the Edgar Cayce work over the past fifty years, in May 2005, I felt impelled to begin presenting “The Edgar Cayce Perspective Series: What the Sleeping Prophet Really Said” on various topics that would counteract any distorted misleading information.  Following a dream that directed me to do so, I began the Open Forum on the Cayce Work at the Science of Light Saturday Evening summer socials in July and August 2006.

Because of the encouraging response to the Open Forum on the Cayce Work, and the eagerness of those attending to openly discuss the wide range of subjects covered by the work; the series continued on Saturday evenings.

A New Home for a Transpersonal University

Atlantic University, the authentic Edgar Cayce University in Virginia Beach (Not to be confused with the Florida Atlantic University or misleading advertising using Edgar Cayce’s name), will have a new home at A.R.E.’s de Laski Family Foundation Education Center, which will also house the Edgar Cayce Foundation and the Cayce/Reilly School of Massotherapy. The ground breaking ceremony, Thursday, October 6, 2011, 4 p.m. with CEO Kevin Todeschi and Mayor Will Sessoms was streamed live. This new step, guided by Kevin, will expand the ability of the University as it carries transpersonal education to a wider audience.    The Groundbreaking Ceremony.

An Alumni Reunion

Elyse Curtis, Ph. D.

Sunday, March 27, 2011, I had the privilege of introducing alumni brother, Kevin Todeschi, ARE Headquarters CEO, whom I hadn’t seen for several years, for his presentation:  Reading the Akashic Records of Your Past and Future” at the ARE of New York.

Through the use of reverie and a waking dream technique, Kevin demonstrated how easy it is to access our own Akashic Records via the imagination, revealing information about the past as well as psychic insights into any question we might have about our personal futures.

I thoroughly enjoyed Kevin’s charming and sometimes humorous stories and the reverie was an enlightening experience.   It became clear that our training at Atlantic University had served us well as we continue to be ambassadors of the Cayce Work and AU after so many years.  Now in my fifty-fifth year researching and teaching the Cayce material, it is as fresh to me as it was when I began and I am continually discovering new information from the Akashic records.

My introduction of Kevin as an alumni brother received applause and gave a plug to the university. I feel that there is interest in the AU training in the New York area, which may manifest in some way in the future.
